Mechanotransduction at the Alveolar-Capillary Interface: How Mechanical Strain Modulates Innate Immune Memory and Type 2 Inflammatory Cascades in Chronic Airway Diseases
Original Research | 2026 | Volume 1 | Issue 1 | Page 01-07 Dr. Manoj Kumar, Tutor, Department of Physiology, JHMC, WB Dr. Shahan Layek, Independent Researcher, West Bengal, India Corresponding Author:- Dr. Shahan Layek Independent Researcher West Bengal, India Email: layekcallmeshahan@gmail.com ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: The alveolar-capillary interface is a highly dynamic environment subjected to constant mechanical forces, including cyclic stretch and shear stress. In chronic ai
Particulate Matter (PM2.5) Exposure Accelerates Airway Remodeling via Activation of the NLRP3 Inflammasome in Moderate-to-Severe Allergic Rhinitis and Asthma
Research Paper | 2026 | Volume 1 | Issue 01 | Page 31-35 Dr. Arbas Mulla, Department of Respiratory Medicine, Dubai Medical College, UAE ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: Epidemiological evidence suggests a strong correlation between fine particulate matter (PM2.5) exposure and the exacerbation of chronic respiratory conditions. However, the precise molecular mechanisms by which PM2.5 drives structural changes in the airways of patients with comorbid Allergic Rhinitis (AR) and Asthma—a ph
Long-Term Persistence of Dysregulated Lung-Resident Memory T Cells and Persistent Mucosal Inflammation in Post-COVID-19 Pulmonary Syndrome
Research Paper | 2026 | Volume 1 | Issue 01 | Page 36-41 Dr. Mohammad Samim Kuresi Khan Department of Respiratory Medicine, Dubai Medical College, UAE ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: A significant proportion of COVID-19 survivors continue to suffer from Post-COVID-19 Pulmonary Syndrome (PCPS), characterized by persistent dyspnea, exercise intolerance, and radiographic lung abnormalities. While the initial hyper-inflammatory response is well-documented, the immunological mechanisms under
Circulating Autoantibody Profiles as Predictive Signatures for Acute Exacerbation and Survival in Myositis-Associated Interstitial Lung Disease
Research Paper | 2026 | Volume 1 | Issue 01 | Page 42-46 Dr. Mohammad Samim Kuresi Khan Department of Respiratory Medicine, Dubai Medical College, UAE ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: Myositis-associated interstitial lung disease (MA-ILD) is a highly heterogeneous and aggressive condition characterized by unpredictable clinical trajectories. While myositis-specific antibodies (MSAs) are established diagnostic markers, their role as dynamic, predictive signatures for acute exacerbation (A
The Interplay Between Alveolar Macrophage Polarization and Fibroblast Activation in Progressing Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF)
Research Paper | 2026 | Volume 1 | Issue 01 | Page 47-51 Dr. Sri Swami Nathan, Professor Department of Respiratory Medicine, Under Dr. MGR Medical University, TN ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) is a progressive, irreversible lung disease characterized by aberrant wound healing and excessive extracellular matrix (ECM) deposition. A central yet incompletely understood mechanism in IPF progression is the crosstalk between immune cells and resident lung c
Quantification of Myxovirus Resistance Protein A (MxA) in Nasopharyngeal Swabs to Differentiate Viral from Bacterial Acute Respiratory Infections in Pediatric Cohorts
Research Paper | 2026 | Volume 1 | Issue 01 | Page 52-56 Dr. Srinathan Ramayea, Assistant Professor Department of Respiratory Medicine, Under Dr. MGR Medical University, TN ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: Distinguishing between viral and bacterial acute respiratory infections (ARIs) in pediatric populations remains a significant clinical challenge. Over-reliance on antibiotics for viral illnesses contributes to global antimicrobial resistance. Myxovirus Resistance Protein A (MxA) is an.
Immunological Correlates of Protection Induced by a Next-Generation Nasal Mucosal Vaccine Against Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) in Older Adults
Research Paper | 2026 | Volume 1 | Issue 01 | Page 57-61 Dr. Srinathan Ramayea, Assistant Professor Department of Respiratory Medicine, Under Dr. MGR Medical University, TN ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) poses a significant burden of morbidity and mortality in the elderly population, where immunosenescence often renders traditional intramuscular vaccines less effective. Nasal mucosal vaccines, by inducing local secretory IgA and tissue-resident memory
